CANCER the word itself makes terror in the minds of the people. It is the word which makes us feel panic. It can cause to anyone without the discrimination of age, sex, colour, class, or status. We at our center provide you with the natural dietary supplements which are natural and does not cause any side effects in curing the disease.

There are many different kinds of cancers. Cancer arises out of normal cells in the body, and can develop in almost any organ or tissue, such as the lung, colon, breast, skin, bones, or nerve tissue.

Cancer of the throat is cancer of the vocal cords, voice box (larynx), or other areas of the throat. It involves the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that have mutated from normal tissues. This growth can kill when these cells prevent normal function of vital organs or spread throughout the body, damaging essential systems.

The alternative names for throat cancer are: vocal cord cancer, laryngeal cancer, cancer of the glottis, or cancer of the pharynx. The risks of developing throat cancer increased if you are a frequent user of alcohol, cigarettes, and chewing tobacco. Cancer of the throat involves tumors on the tonsils, vocal cords, voice box (larynx) and at the base of the tongue.

The people who are considered at high risk in this disease are many. If the people are more exposed to tobacco use, more smoke with heavy consumption of alcohol, regular or excessive consumption of alcohol, is considered at high and increasing risks. Smoking and drinking alcohol combined lead to an extreme risk for the development of throat cancers. This cancer can also occur due to the enlargement of the thyroid gland called chronic goiter. It may be due to the radiation exposure and the family history of cancer or the genetic predisposition. Most cancers of the throat develop in adults older than 50. Men are 10 times more likely than women to develop throat cancers. The exact cause of throat cancer is unknown, although tobacco products are thought to play a significant role in about 80 per cent of cases.

Symptoms of this cancer depend on the type and location of the tumor. For example, lung cancer can cause coughing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, while colon cancer often causes diarrhea, constipation, and blood in the stool. Some cancers may not have any symptoms at all. Like symptoms, the signs of cancer vary based on the type and location of the tumor. However, there are some of the common symptoms found in this cancer like fever, chills, night sweats, weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, malaise.

The other symptoms of throat cancer can include:
A swelling or lump in the throat.
A persistent cough.
Blood-flecked phlegm.
The sensation of something permanently stuck in the throat.
Voice changes, such as persistent hoarseness or huskiness.
Throat pain.
Referred pain into the ears.
Swallowing difficulties.
Breathing difficulties.
Swollen lymph glands.
Gastrointestinal disorders, such as excessive reflux, diarrhoea or constipation.

If you experience any of the above throat cancer symptoms it is advised that you see your healthcare provider for a more thorough check so the proper diagnose and treatment can be applied.

One of the best ways to prevent cancer is to not smoke or chew tobacco. Many cancers can be prevented by avoiding risk factors such as excessive exposure to sunlight and heavy drinking. They should have some good diet so that they are not attacked with the disease. Keeping the health fit by doing the exercises, having the nutritious food intake, protecting ourselves from bad atmosphere may make us to be free from the disease. Some people at high risk for developing certain cancers can take medication to reduce their risk. But yet the treatment is aimed at destruction of the cancer and prevention of spread of the cancer to other parts of the body.

Treatment is aimed at destruction of the cancer and prevention of spread of the cancer to other parts of the body. The earlier throat cancer is diagnosed, the better the prospect of recovery. If the treatment is not given then it can grow and can cause to death. So it is better to get treated at its initial stage. The treatment needs long term recovery but if have a hope of conquering it then you can have it. You should be mentally firmed and be prepared to achieve in curing it.

Cancer Support

This isn’t about cancer treatment options and the like. This is from my heart to yours as a word of encouragement as you face one of the greatest battles of your life.

Getting a cancer diagnosis is probably one of the most devastating things a person has to experience. I can only imagine what a person who has heard the words, "You’ve got cancer." must feel, but that doesn’t mean I can’t sympathize with the situation and tell you that I love you.

You read all of the time about people telling you how to cope with cancer and what your treatment options are, so I’m not going to do that. What I am going to do is to tell you that you are on my heart and on my mind, and I promise to say a prayer for you every day that you will be strengthened by this journey you’re on.

My father, Willie, was having some issues with his stomach late last year. His doctors believed he had some blockage in his intestines, so they decided to do surgery to see what they could find. Well, they found something, and what they found was not promising. Daddy had a cancerous tumor that was blocking his colon.

I remember vividly sitting in the waiting room during his surgery and the doctor coming out, stone-faced, and I stood to my feet. We were expecting to hear that his surgery had gone well and the blockage had been removed. Dr. Ward looked us squarely in the eyes and said, "We’ve found cancer." My stepmother immediately started crying, but not me.

If there is one thing I know, I know that God is able. And as if that weren’t already enough, I know my dad is a trooper. I instantly thought that if anyone could get the diagnosis and beat it, surely, it was him. We affectionately call him "The Bull" because of his rough and tough exterior, but inside he’s just a sweet little pony. (smile)

I can’t say that my heart didn’t skip a beat when the doctor told us the news, but I can tell you a few things grounded me in that instance. First, my faith. Then, my love for my dad and his zest for life.

I didn’t flinch as I asked the physician, "So, what’s next?" He said, "Well, I believe I’ve removed all of it, and it doesn’t look like it has spread. But, we won’t know for sure until we receive the tests back from the lymph nodes we took in the surrounding area. That could take up to a week." Then, he reassured us Daddy was doing well from surgery and was in recovery.

I’m happy to say The Bull’s story ends well. The cancer hadn’t spread, and he would be fine. But had his tummy not been bothering him, we probably would have not known cancer was alive and well inside his body until it was too late.

I know everyone’s story doesn’t end like his. And I didn’t tell you that to make you feel bad if your experience isn’t looking like it will end well. What I do want to offer you is hope. Hope and belief that even if cancer costs you your life, that other good things may come from it like how something like this pulls and welds families together.

So, if you’re living with cancer or experienced it the way I have, through a loved one, a diagnosis doesn’t have to be the end. Everything happens for a reason. Whatever season you’re in with this disease, please know that my heart goes out to you.

And please also know that just as I ached for my father’s well-being, I ache for yours. My prayer is that a cure will be found to stave off this disease once and for all. But until it is discovered, take heart that someone out there loves you and is praying on your behalf.

May God bless you and your family as you navigate the rough waters of a cancer diagnosis. I love you. Take care.

How to Test For Throat Cancer

Throat Cancer

Throat cancer involves cancer of the part of your throat just behind your mouth. Throat cancer is usually painless in their early stages or may have minor symptoms.

Stages of Throat Cancer

Cancer affects the body’s basic unit, the cell. Cancer occurs when cells become abnormal and keep dividing and forming more cells without control or order.

What is Throat Cancer?

Cancer affects the body’s basic unit, the cell. Cancer occurs when cells become abnormal and keep dividing and forming more cells without control or order.

Causes of Throat Cancer

Throat cancer appears to occur as a result of damage to the DNA in the cells in your mouth and throat. Using tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption can damage these tissues. The combination of smoking or chewing tobacco and excessive drinking creates a much higher risk of oral and throat cancer.

Oral and throat cancer appears to occur as a result of damage to the DNA in the cells in your mouth and throat. Using tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption can damage these tissues. The combination of smoking or chewing tobacco and excessive drinking creates a much higher risk of oral and throat cancer.

After controlling for other risk factors for throat cancer, such as drinking and smoking, the analysis revealed that people who had prior infection with HPV were 32 times as likely to have this cancer as those with no evidence of ever having the virus.

How is mouth and throat cancer diagnosed?

The doctor will usually begin by examining the mouth and throat using a mirror and lights. The doctor may then feel the mouth and throat with a gloved finger, for any lumps or swellings. You may then be asked to have a blood test and a X-ray to check your general health.

Can Throat Cancer be treated?

If the tumor that contains the cancer cells is small, either surgery or radiation therapy alone can be used to eliminate the tumor. If the tumor is not small, or has spread to lymph nodes in the neck, a more aggressive treatment of radiation and chemotherapy is often needed.

In some cases, surgery is needed to remove the tumor and vocal cord is necessary.

HPV 16 was present in the tumors of 72 percent of or pharyngeal cancer patients enrolled in the study. People with detectable antibodies in their bloodstream to molecules made by HPV were 58 times more likely to have these oral cancers, a figure that dwarfs the connection between high cholesterol and heart attacks

This treatment usually results in a cure if it is carried out early enough. In more advanced cases the larynx has to be removed. After the operation, you will need to breathe through a hole on the front of the throat (tracheostomy).

Alternative Cancer Treatments

Alternative cancer treatments are mentioned everywhere these days. It seems like every week there is a new treatment being mentioned by the media. The field of alternative cancer treatment is becoming more accepted by cancer patients in recent years. Here are some more tips to help you understand more.

You should be aware that alternative cancer treatments now offer cancer treatment benefits for a growing number of people. A lot of cancer patients now take the time to investigate alternative medicines to supplement their traditional cancer treatments.

Alternative treatments can provide another option to those whose cancer has spread so rapidly that traditional treatments no longer are available. An example of this is chemotherapy, which can only be pursued under certain conditions. It does not make sense to those open to the idea of alternative medicine to simply accept the fact that nothing more can be done by conventional medicine. Especially when they have the option of using alternative medicines in the late stages of their cancer.

A point to ponder: Homeopathy as the practice of using minute doses of active ingredients to produce the body’s own defense and healing process.

In fact, many cancer survivors who had no hope with conventional medicines, claim that their situations improved after using alternative medicines.

Some of the alternative treatments provide help by strengthening the body and controlling the side effects of conventional treatments. With some of these alternative approaches you can expect them to be gentler, and less invasive. In some ways they are preferable to traditional treatments.

Alternative medicine on a whole, is usually described as HOLISTIC. What Holistic means is that the entire body is treated, not just the affected area. As well, some treatment methods look after the mental, spiritual and physical aspects of the individual. Basically caring for the person on all levels.

Many alterative treatments operate in certain ways. Many are based on the premise that the stronger the body, the more likely it is to fight off and kill cancer. They insist that problems in the immune system or imbalances in the body cause cancers to thrive. Some believe free radical damage in the body occurs because of poor lifestyle habits and bad diet choices. We also know that stress can contribute to this imbalance.

Alternative Cancer Treatments attempt to remove the underlying condition that allows the cancer to thrive by inducing the body’s own natural healing processes. Of all the Alternative medicine techniques used, Essiac is still the first choice alternative medicine for cancer care and it is still considered to be one of the best alternative medicine therapies.

Finally, when you are informed in the way that alternative cancer treatment works, you can make better decisions on the best course of action to handle your own situation. And of course, keep your doctor informed of what you are trying.

Coping With Cancer

Denial. Fear. Anger. A cancer diagnosis brings an endless amount of emotions. What do you do now?

It’s hard to know where to start when it comes to treating cancer, but you are not alone in your journey to recovery. Doctors and nurses will be there to help you address your questions and concerns about cancer treatment.

With these tips from the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, you’ll be more prepared to fight the disease head-on.

* First, take a deep breath. You don’t have to decide on the best treatment the second you are diagnosed. Take a moment to collect your thoughts.

* Do your homework. Before agreeing to a treatment, read up on your type of cancer and the treatments that are available. Visit your hospital’s cancer resource library to find brochures and other information on your type of cancer. Your local library and the Internet also are great places for information. Keep in mind that some of the information out there is out-of-date or biased, so be sure to talk to your doctor about what you learn.

* Get a second opinion. In some cases, more than one treatment may be right for your cancer. Before deciding on a treatment, be sure to meet with several different cancer doctors, including a surgeon, a radiation oncologist and a medical oncologist, to learn about available treatments and their side effects. Getting all of this information at once might be difficult to digest, therefore it’s a good idea to take a friend or family member with you to help take notes and ask questions.

* Ask about clinical trials. Clinical trials are studies examining new ways to treat cancer. Some experimental drugs or techniques will only be available to patients who are participating in a clinical trial.

* Get involved. Cancer support groups are available in all parts of the country to help patients and family members cope. Ask your nurse for recommendations of groups in your area.

* Talk to your insurance company. Avoid surprises during treatment by learning what cancer treatments are covered by your plan. If you don’t have insurance, talk to your doctors about the options available to you.
